Before and after

Two recent jobs. Most of our work starts the same way: a few photos sent from a phone.

Before: a weathered picket fence almost swallowed by overgrown hedging and long grassBefore
After: a mown grass walk between neatly clipped hedgesAfter
Overgrown boundary, PrestburyTwo days. Hedges cut back by a metre, the grass walk found again, nine bags of green waste taken away.
Before: a rusty wheelbarrow standing in knee-high grass and weedsBefore
After: a mown lawn in neat stripes beside a clipped hedgeAfter
Lost lawn, Charlton KingsCut down, scarified and overseeded in September. On the fortnightly round ever since.

The garden year

A garden doesn’t stop in November, and neither do we. This is what our round looks like, month by month, and why a winter visit saves you a spring clearance.

When each gardening job is done through the year: main season, lighter work, or not usually.

Regular visits

Most of our gardens are on a round. Same gardener, same day, the side gate shut behind us. Prices depend on the garden; these are where they start.

  • Fortnightly

For gardens that are used and looked at every day.

Two hours every other week from March to October, monthly through the winter.

    from £38 a visitsample figure

  • Monthly

For lower-maintenance gardens that still want to look kept.

A longer visit once a month, all year, with the hedges included in their season.

    from £52 a visitsample figure

  • Four seasons

For people who do the weekly jobs themselves.

Four big visits: spring tidy, summer hedges, autumn cut-back, winter pruning.

    from £165 a visitsample figure

Not sure which? Tick “Regular visits” on the quote form and we’ll suggest one when we’ve seen the garden.

Our garden had got away from us after the baby. Sent three photos on a Sunday night, had a price on Monday, and two days later you could see the lawn again. Every bag gone, not a leaf left on the drive.

They've done our fortnightly round for three years. Same face every time, gate shut behind them, and a note through the door if they've spotted something. The hedges have never looked better.

We asked for a plan for a north-facing bed where nothing grew. It's now the best part of the garden. They knew exactly what would cope with the shade and the clay.

Laid a small stone patio by the back door so I can sit out in the mornings. Neat, level, and finished on the day they said it would be.

A price from your photos

We can’t price a garden from a description, but we can from a few pictures. No visit needed for most jobs.

  1. Send a few photosFrom different corners, with something for scale.
  2. Get a price, usually next daySmall and regular jobs priced from the photos. Bigger ones, we come and look, free.
  3. Pick a dateWe text the day before and turn up when we said we would.

One-off or regular?

Up to six. Something for scale helps: a fence panel, the back door, the shed.

We reply within one working day, usually with a price.
